Two years have come and gone
Sometimes it doesn’t feel that long
Since I lost feared your sweet song
Or since your eyes colored the dawn
Most days fly by without the sorrow
And I can look forward to tomorrow
Some days I look for time to borrow
Yet often all the minutes are hallow
As spring knocks to enter the year
A holiday arrives that is full of cheer
St. Patrick’s day brings fun and green beer
But the day holds no joy for me, I fear
As people become Irish for the day
Sadness creeps into my soul not going away
Causing my heart to drop and sway
For this day is more than just a holiday
In truth, this is the day of your birth
You lived a life full of mirth
We were grateful for your time on earth
But your life was given as tithe
Hard were your last years here
But you made your plight seem mere
Pain may have driven to the core
But you were always dear
We miss you since you left
And things seem to have gone adrift
It feels as there is a great rift
That has left us all bereft
Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
