The day when we used to play.

Bliss that was so grand.

Take me back to the year,
When all we cried was a crocodile tear.
Hardly without a care,
Unknowing of future burdens to bare.

Take me back to the hour,
Of when things turned sour.
So I can turn away,
And return to my fantasy of yesterday.

Take me back to the day,
The day when we would say,
I love you.
Instead of, I hate you, in all our woe.

You cannot take me back to that day.
That year.
That hour.
So here I stand.
Alone, in my dark hour.
On this day,
Of this year.
