At evening...

Life is passing, but still wonderful...

At evening...

On a late July evening

Evelyne sits on the steps,

The day sinking away

Through the trees and sky.

Great pillows of clouds,

Edges melting, shining,

Mountainous scoops

Of peach ice cream,

Reflect the setting sun.

“Come look,” she says.

“Come see.  Come.”

“Yes, it’s wonderful.

Wonderful,” I say,

"Even this fading,

This passing to grey."

These words are very meaningful to me on a personal level....
You capture something so enigmatic with your eloquent expression...
Another one for my library...

A great poetic perspective of life.
This is one of the BEST poems I have read all day.
That means it rates #1 of about twenty five.
Thank you for the uplifting words.

Well done!

John Michael
