Homage for my German Shepherd who was a great family member and is very missed.

Poem Artwork

He was born without a name A gold mane and black coat striking and sleek brought oohs and ahs from passersby Seen walking – not him He strode by, attracting all To see those legs strut, The head strong and Attitude, Purposeful One said “regal” The other “so loyal” But most exclaimed “How handsome” His eyes grew bright with delightful gold/brown flecks Good times and laughter Of loved ones, new and old were good friends to him We named him Luke Oft, “Luke-the-Duke” As in the Bible He reminded us of the Greatest Gift A gift of life and love Sorrow, he washed away With kisses and hugs His love calmed all fears He gave his gifts back to us Handsome, no, handsomest he was, never less

I can see the sparkle in his eyes from the picture. He gave a lot to you and that's why you're missing him a lot today.

I used to have a very beautiful German Shepherd by the name of Princess. I loved that dog, as I know you loved Luke. Welcome to Authors Den.
