After recovering from a bout of depression I really saw who my true friends were. The ones who stuck by me.
I have seen
The scenery
From within my own fantasy and
It scares me
And tears me
Apart from everyone else
Every word
Every phrase
Every fingertip pointed my way
Creates a brick
Lifts a stone
Withering my will to confess to you all
That I’ve been living behind the shadow
Of a wall so I high
I couldn’t seem to be heard above my own screams
No matter how hard I tried
And silence fell
Upon my shell
That I had constructed
Curled up inside
So I could hide
Just as I had instructed my self to do
I was sinking so damn fast
From constantly reliving my past mistakes
Walking through a nightmare in the daylight hours
In a dreamscape from which I couldn’t wake till now
I chiseled through
And came back to you
And rebuilt myself again
Through blood and sweat
But no hint of regret
Focusing just on where I am
The walls have tumbled over
My mental state is sober and walking a straight line
Broken through and broken free
Shattered the shackles of misery and extreme loneliness
With hard determination not to depress
And internal issues to address
In building the wall
In spite of it all
You all remained apart of my life
And in stone construction
To stone destruction
Thank you
