Even now, in what seems to be

our darkest moment aren't you

glad to be alive?

There is never a wrong time

to look up and just be grateful.

Nobody can read your mind

or look into your heart but you.

No one can live your life for you.

There will always be times when

one of us just wont have a clue.

So, smile. Look for those

happy moments and pass it

on. Yes, pass it on.

Let yourself shine because

your light is needed during a

dark day and pass it on.

Just pass it on.

When tomorrow becomes today

the opinions people had of you

will fade. The only thing they

will remember is how you stood

in your space with grace and passed

it on.

When a person just can't understand

something he invents a story.

When someone realizes you are

not what he thought you were

his mind starts to make things up and

tries to find the why you just don't fit

into his idea of you .

But , never mind what's believed about

you. What matters is you carry with you

the truth.

We all think life should be a certain way and

take for granted certain things judging by what

is told by our culture and the values which

are passed on. What if our culture was wrong?

What if none of us were right nor wrong?

Maybe we're all fooled by what

our separate cultures taught us.

Trying to fit into a certain space

and meet the expectations of

that place, where conformity

is confused with comfort and a

life of another is perceived as a lie

because it doesn't belong in your

story, how can you survive?

When the life of another is

perceived as a lie how do

any of us survive?

I love all your "wake up" calls. But I believe you overstate
reality when you say "What matters is you carry with you the truth."
Those who believe they carry the truth are part of the problem. Better to carry with you the search for answers because "the truth" can
never be found. But what a great piece of writing!

Some great questions raised about our relationships with others. So many are based on lies and when we find out the truth we can be devastated or we can learn and move on. Some heavy thoughts presented themselves as I read. Especially when my partner just told me that her doctoral student niece from an entirely different culture recently, during their honeymoon, discovered that she had lots of disagreements with her new husband already.

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
