I'm with you with these beautiful, wistful lines. All things that I had to quit doing, self-imposed, over 40 years ago, fighting my body to the end for that sensation again. I last achieved it on an inner tube paddling around the lake with a view from water level.
My partner feels the same, having taught herself to swim about 15 years ago and now unable to do her usual 10 laps of relaxation and exhilaration that she so enjoys.
The good news is, that you will be able to swim again, sooner or later. Let's hope sooner.
