Haunted, it’s an eerie thing, Haunted, by obsession
Haunted by the thought I can’t get enough of you Haunted by the feeling this is all a dream Haunted by the fear that what we have isn’t real Haunted by the emptiness without you I would feel Sorting through the craziness of if I could I should I Picturing your smile the sound of your sweet voice Everything about you is exactly what I wished for So If I can just convince myself things will all be fine I can’t seem to shake these overwhelming feelings Although you reassure me with every kiss good night When I awaken each new day I know I need to try But that little voice inside tells me today you’ll say goodbye It’s a never ending Nightmare full of broken sleep Living with these visions of us going separate ways Suspicion, fear, jealousy have me going crazy Always thinking negative but you never give me reason Haunted by the thought that someday you’ll walk away Haunted by the feeling that I won’t survive the pain Haunted by the fear these foolish thoughts are true Haunted by the emptiness of ever loosing you Haunted, it’s an eerie thing, Haunted, by obsession Haunted , In a warped imagination, HAUNTED
The poem certainly describes mental thoughts that are obsessive and especially persistently negative. This leads me to believe that there was some deception in the relationship that brings out these fears.
Writing the poem only accentuates the severity of the problem. Through experience, I've learned that it's best to let someone go… completely… and not look back, but move forward. If there's any love in the relationship it will reappear without pleading.
