Who mourns for a muse
Who has lost her inspiration?
Always there to inspire
Now lost on the road of life.
Tears cascade down her face
Etched by life and circumstance
Desperately searching, seeking
Needing something to rejuvenate her spirit.
Who mourns for a muse
Unable to fulfill her heart’s desire
Chasing a rainbow – perhaps an illusion
Hurting, aching, longing and alone.
Stuck in the muck and mire
That has become a life
Empathetic to all, heroine to none
Hitchhiking on the dreams of others.
Who mourns for a muse
Burdened with a broken heart
Ideas held hostage, unable to create
Her inkwell refilled by tears.

Breathe the fresh air and feel what comes down on the breeze to you, a smile, a beautiful dream, a kiss. Taste the fruits of all you have been, what you will become, and what you mean to those who hear you.
Taste the glory of what you created for what you created was a thing of beauty.

Search the hills, a child's laughter, a knowing smile on a nursing
home resident, the sun in the morning and the moon at night...and
in one of these or a million other places...you will find that will-o-the-wisp muse staked out.
