We could have been friends many years ago
To be as close as only you and I know
Not a love of passion but a friendship so dear
I worry and care whether I'm far or near
We have a kinship of sorts and my heart sees yours
We've talked and shared for hours and hours
I sense your need for an ear that hears
You can share your thoughts and even your fears
There are times when I genuinely feel your pain
And I shed tears like you and the falling rain
But through it all, we find a smile or a grin
From something we said from that need within
There is no friendship I hold so dear
From someone I know and can't be near
Friends like us will always be
I'll care for you as you care for me
This is special, June, a friendship not built on lusts of the body, which can and does usually turn into something horrible. But not friendship built on caring and giving to each other in a special, true friendship way.
Yes, there are definitely such friends exist, I called him "My Superfriend" even though we have never met. I also wrote the poem "My Superfriend" for this unusual friendship. Great friends are hard to find.
