Christmas 2015
LOST CAN BE FOUND
Christmas isn't the same as it was way back when
Life got a little tough just now and then...
But maybe because the world has lost it's way
We are experiencing tragedies almost everyday
I wonder if success and greed took over our lives
We forgot about true happiness for husband and wives
And children no longer play games with silly names
Without their phones and electronic games
We worry to much about what others possess
And try to keep up with all the rest
Folks used to take pride in the trade that they learned
And were proud to exist with just the money they earned
Hopefully we come and realize what is missing
It could as simple as hugging and kissing
And loving each other for who they are
Thanking God for his love from way afar.

My mother not only had to keep up with deficit financing, she had to do all the cooking and cleaning with every new appliance that dad could buy for her. Still, she had to work as a cleaning lady to earn enough for getting us some meager Christmas presents.
Overhanging it all was the threat of impending nuclear war.
A further collection of poems, many from years in the Middle East, but also the California San Francisco and Central Coast areas (Santa Cruz, Carmel, Big Sur, Berkeley, etc.).
My book of poetry is being redone by me, I have a beautiful cover designed and the book will have a few more than 200 poems in it. I am going to have it printed on demand here in Canada. When it is done I will let you know when it is done and if anyo
