Something for fun while I work on somrthing else...

The alliterative poet presumes

to place his P’s and Q’s

precisely where planned to prove a point.

That is, his pieces provide punctuation

timed to taut tempo of tongue and teeth

as he attempts not to sound staccato,

strident, sibilant, nor strange,

while providing useful, metrical rhyme,

unassuming amusement

(Ignore the gerund; it can’t be helped)

Whether strictly formed or seriously free.

(Adverbs will creep in uninvited,

if not severely monitored.

Refer to previous note.)

So, all that’s asked is to please, forgive.

Show some kindness to the alliterative poet.

His penchant for plosives, sheer, black diphthongs,

is more of a plea for help, than a plague.
