In Korean poetry, there are many outstanding works composed of phrases and verses or nouns and pronouns without forming sentences according to the intention to use less language or to the others.
I efforted to reveal my idea and rhythms in this work.
This poem has an ideological depth based on an original question about human life, but the original Korean work is widely known as a poem with stunning rhythms.
Translation crafts are not always satisfactory because they cannot retain the characteristics of Korean.

Undals-an Kimyong-sa
Too far to listen to the bell sound
Day by day of fighting against pulmonary disease
Time passes like falling dry leaves
Burying the sleeping wind
Snow being piled up all night
Bringing a few ripe persimmon to the guest
The warm mind similar to the light of 1000's wooden tray
Burying the feet prints too
The night deeper than the mountain valley
The wide lonesome guest room with a flickering candle
The tearing sound of pine branches
Being buried in the snow
What is life
What is death
That despair deeper than vomiting blood
That question more painful than the disease pains
All night in the outside
Falling snow piling up
Neither the monk nor the big buddha gives an answer

About reading in original pronunciation
I published this work with the pronunciations attached only to it in English letters so that the original Korean work can be read. It is because I want readers who do not know Korean to taste the beautiful rhythm of this original work in Korean. This poem was written a long time ago in memory of the youth when I had been suffering more than 10 years from pulmonary tuberculosis and spent in the temple of Kimyong in the high mountain of Undal for a week to be freed from the disease of death in those days. Thankfully God cured completely with a mysterious way which my reason can never comprehend when I returned to His arms according to His wonderful calling by attending a church in one week. By leaving Buddhism and converting to Christianity, 'the sound of the large bell came to seem to be heard or not from a great distance’. However, In Korean poetry there are many outstanding works composed of phrases and verses or nouns and pronouns without forming sentences so as to use less language or to relieve rhythm or the other intentions. This poem is one of them. The original Korean work has wonderful rhythms. For those including you who are interested in Korean, I wrote the sounds made when reading the original in English.
