now GOD looked down
and HE looked around
HE didn't like the sound

HE had a fit
"what's up with all this shit?"
HE'd had enough of it

HE figgered it was time ta' git tuff

so HE racked HIS brain
HE almost went insane
HE was tired a' them raisin' cain

but, before the rain's came
HE knew they weren't all ta' blame
they weren't all the same
there were a few who still knew HIS NAME

HE figgered HE could find 1 or 2
who still were true
" naw it ain't you, and it ain't you"
then HE found Noah, HE figgered Noah would do

so, HE looked down & said " hey Noah, hark"
"go out Noah and cut ya' some bark,
build ME an ark
do it now before the sky gits dark"

Noah looked up high,
ask GOD "why?"
"there ain't a cloud in the sky"
GOD said, trust ME, give it a try, I don't lie"...

"it's gonna' rain
it'll be a pain
this rain'll drive you insane
it's comin' like a South bound train"

(Noah ask GOD "what's a train")

GOD said "never you mind
just go out and find
animals of all kind
2 of each, don't leave none behind"

Noah said " are YOU kiddin' me?
all them animals i just can't see
floatin' on a boat made from a tree
i mean GOD, i ain't questionin' THEE,

"Enuff!
I'm tired a' all a' this stuff
time ta' git tuff
time ta' git ruff"

so, tho the sky was blue
and he didn't know what ta' do
he figgered it was True,
i mean whata' ya' gonna' do when GOD speaks to you?

so 1 by 1, and 2 by 2
Noah got himself a crew
he figgered that that would do
"hey GOD, what about all this pooh-pooh?"

"just never you mind
just make sure you find
a he & a she of all kind
when it's rainin' you can unwind

so 2 by 2
they all came thru
"meow, bark-bark, moo-moo..
even a cocka-doodle-do"

then the rain came
Noah knew this tweren't no game
things weren't gonna' be the same
but, hey, he wadn't ta' blame

for 40 days & 40 nights
they had no sights
there weren't no daylights
guess it gave Noah times ta' writes

then one day
a bird came back Noah's way
don't think he knew what ta' say
guess he just figgerd it'd be ok

anyway...

the moral of this story
is don't worry
but if it starts ta' rain you better hurry
