TO SHINE FOR THEE By Margaret A. Gatchel Through a life of joy and sorrow, I know it all, as gain. Bless me with empathy And love for those With loneliness, or pain With each new tomorrow Give me a taste of Christ, who died, A suffering death to carry away Each sin I’ve done, through pride. Then give me through this heartache An inner light, to shine for thee, So others can hear the calling, Of your voice that sets all free. By the resurrected glory And redemption through the King, Who gives strength for each new trial And, grace through everything. Let patience and acceptance Be my motto for each day. That I not show disapproval, That they do not think my way. Let me show my hope for the future In telling others from the start, Of the glorious life, you offer each soul When you dwell within their heart Lord, use my life for your purpose, In whatever trial you bring. Keep me humbly, bowing on my knees To my Jesus; my Lord, my King.
