I only want to hold her
Again for a few seconds...
To breathe in her fragrance...
To touch her soft smile lightly
Like rainwater dripping slowly
Over the soft folds
Of her flesh...
It's so difficult to be close
To her in this trembling body...
And not touch the beautiful flower
She has become...
Sadly, I suppose I must content
Myself with watching her beautiful
Self unfold petal by shining petal...
Into the dimming light of twilight
Where the river of my emotions
Flows into the silence...
Where I dream and live in hope
Of an embrace I might never know
Sometimes we can be so passionate from a distance, and the excitement of admiring someone from a far can add color to our day. Sometimes the sights, and scents of another person at a distance can ignite so many fires in our heart. As we long to whisper in the person's ear, we come back to reality and realize that we might never have the opportunity to know how the person's embrace may feel. Your poem makes me curious. Why is it that you might not feel her embrace? Is it because your body trembles in fear? Or is it because she is simply not available to pursue you? Maybe I am reading into this too much, but I am consumed by your beautiful words and I love the way you write.
How i feel after death of husband Tom on Aug 17 07. Well, I will never forget him and have loving memories to be held on to but must go on with living day by day only. Hard to do but poetry like yours helps. Take care. Have a good day. Lois C.
This is so sad and touching and also something in life that we all must face and have already. Your thoughts and words of expression, hurt and pain has touched me. Aleja bennett

Well if she reads this, dear heart, she'll be licking your neck in no time. Beautiful.
Watching her from afar has its merits. She inspires you to write beautiful poetry, whereas if you were in embrace with her, your words would drift from the keyboard into tangible whispers in her lovely ear. Thanks for the fragrance of this poem! Delightful womanly scent of distant passion!
