......

Sometimes I wonder, on days

Such as this, if perhaps I fight

Too hard against the very things

That beat me down, human things

That nonetheless eludes my attempts

To articulate, speech a means of poor

Interpretation, inadequate verbal link

As to how I feel somehow lost in

Translation, my words crossing the

Distance between mouth and ear

Mere shadows of what they were

Meant to convey, isolated fragments

Lending its pieces to the puzzled looks

Across the very faces of those I wanted

Most to understand, sometimes made

Harder by my own reluctance to reach

A little further within myself, because

I know some things can never be said

No matter how heavy the burden of

My hearts confinement, camouflaged

As small talk, with I love you hidden

Underneath, forming silent tears that

Fall unseen from a down-turned face

Long after she has left the room…

END

A great write George....I have just noticed that I titled my poem this same title.
This is very vivid in its images and thought.

... Um...uh...oo.... know this soooo well, George! Just say it, dammit!! What could be worse than the endless boxing and coxing?! Don't worry, I speak to myself here as a demonstration of the frustration that tongue-tiedness can bring us to. If my tongue were a pen, maybe it would be different...I don't know how you manage it, but you have the definite gift of being able to articulate so well the brain-waves and electro-pulses that happen BETWEEN thought... your work is a testament to pre-thought, and that is what makes it just so special... not "Sometimes" but "Always" - no bull. Never stop. TY Kate xx

Sometimes I wonder where you learned how to write so beautifully
with such depth of feeling to arouse all of our emotions!

Thanks for your support;-)

A truly sad piece, George - and probably often part of our human makeup.
