One, last, lonely tear falling,
Like a petal from a dying rose,
Landing ever so gently,
In the deep, indigo pool below,
Sending ripples racing,
Silently away from the sadness,
On this moonless autumn night,
Leaving only the distant stars,
To remember why we had cried.
