Dedicated to all men and women in the armed forces...may they come home soon and may this dreadful war end. Peace!
The drums are pounding slowly
The men fall into line
Marching perhaps to glory
Or to the end of time...
Come home boys, come home.
The drums are knelling softly
For all those who have fallen
For those who are still living
Their loved ones are calling...
Come home boys, come home.
Battles rage on in fury
Cannons roar and cry
What reward can there be
But death for those who die?
Come home boys, come home.
We love you all so dearly
We're proud to call you ours
And we never will forget you
When upon your graves we lay sweet flowers....
Come home boys, come home.
Mine was about the Winds of War, but the message is still the same.

Hi Penni...I wrote one similar about the drums
of war...I guess us writers do think alike...
this was truly heartfelt...I also wish they
could come home...I see today that one of our
men was captured...I love the pleading feel
of this sorrowful poem..well done..floria
