Little Versus That Ain't Haiku

I took a creative writing course and for the life of me couldn't do Haiku to save my soul!

Clouds--
White clouds above like ghost ships
Sailing upon the calm, heavenly seas
To parts and destinies unknown.

Daisies--
Awakened by the wind's gentle fingers
Opening their eyes
They turn their white faces to the sun.

Destiny--
One single person's destiny
Is often found written
Right in the palm of their hand.

Life--
Life is but a clock
That slowly winds down
And stops ticking.

Time--
Seconds, minutes, and hours
Must surely have invisible wings
That carries them swiftly away.

Rain--
Silver teardrops tumble
From the face of a sad sky
To smiling green meadows below.

Rainbow--
It was as if an archer shot
An arrow with ribbon streamers
That arched across the sky.

Lighthouse--
A rock-anchored beacon light
With its golden eye blinking assuredly
Guiding the lost to friendly shores.

These are not traditional haiku but, who cares? They are priceless poetic jewels. Love and peace to you, Penni. Regis

You're talking about traditional haiku. I think what you have here is more like spiritual haiku. It doesn't adhere to the syllabic restrictions, but contains all the heart and wisdom of true haiku.

I hate haiku, too! These are sweet drops of wisdom, Penni. I could eat them all! Two suggestions: One single [A] Most surely [Must surely]
