An ode to Aspen, Colorado. My one and only visit there was June 9th, 1976
The mountains have called for the thunder to come
and the rain cries on its shoulder.
By and by it will come to the mountains
while stars will sleep in the heavens.
The pines will sing with the lark bunting
while the rivers will forever be turning.
The sky will laugh and the sun will wink
before thunder and lightning comes moaning.
The hawk will fly and the eagle will soar
in canyons humming with wind song.
At morning the dawn will look like a pearl
As rain passes over to Denver.
The turning leaves in autumn's light breeze
will bring beauty to the eyes of the beholder.
And the mountains have called for the thunder to come
while the rain cries on its shoulder.
Serene meadows will sing
that Aspen will live forever...
Please, let paradise live forever.
