I wrote this eons ago when I was just a little kid...

Had a dream last night of flying
But it was just an old re-run
I flew like a free-born bird
Aiming for the sun.

I know this has happened before
Time after time I've tried to reach a goal
Only to fail to make it at all
And feel like something's missing within my soul.

I hear a wise man talking
Told me not to fear anything at all
Reach for whatever is possible
No matter how far or how tall.

When I closed my eyes again that night
With determination I set every fear on the run
Flying fast and spirited
I flew higher than ever before
I reached up with a hand--
And I touched the sun.
