The internal struggle, when standing on a ledge.

If I die before I finish,
You'll never know the end.
You'll never know if I lost my mind,
if I let go and let myself bend.

I don't think I ever meant this,
Things should have gotten better.
But nothing ever works out,
I think that's why I'm writing you this letter.

Could you possibly forgive me?
For making promises when really I lied.
I almost wish it didn't matter,
after all, nobody died.

What about our souls?
I have to ask,
Because I don't think they survived,
This most unfortunate task.

You cannot hide your true face!
I see that down in there you hate me!
You wretched whore!
I'm asking forgiveness, can't you see?

I may have lost my way from time to time,
But here I stand before you bearing my soul,
why can't you look past the past?
And try to see my goal?

So you see,
If I die before I finish,
I'll never know if you'll forgive me,
I'll simply melt and diminish.

It's what you want though,
I understand now,
You are not the same,
The real you wouldn't let me bow.

You loved me once,
And I did love you,
But I couldn't keep you safe,
I couldn't do what I needed to.

That is that,
I'll go away,
I think I'll die,
If you think I may.

I have lost it,
My mind you know.
But that doesn't matter,
Because now I'll go.
