Amidst all the dreadful news
We could now some good one use
For all the children everywhere
A special wish and earnest prayer
May your innocence, joy, extend
May your wonder never end.
Not just one, or just a few
Wish that all your dreams come true
Hope you make a better world
Where love reigns and rancor's hurled
Change the World make Love supreme
Make Good real- not just a dream.
This is a lovely, well-written expression of wishful, prayerful, hope. I even like that you have text only and no ‘image’ with this, because image can change context of a piece of writing. Keeping this universal to grandparent and parent and about children of every kind, size, color, nature of ‘child’ enhances the power of the poem. I, like you, wish that the ‘spirit’ of my twin five-year-old granddaughters, well-nurtured by good parents, can continue on into their lives. That is a still-hopeful dream of an elder for their innocence, generosity, and their love of life itself, to to somehow radiate forward. We oldsters wish and dream, too. Thank you for your uplifting poetry, Birendra. ~~ djl
