What's wrong with love

Your Heart may feel it's right but don't love the wrong person

 Love isn't always Right.

I'm still walking all alone
You're waiting broken by a phone
Chasing old loves in new books,
Getting by on your perfect looks
But that might not be enough,
On the days life gets tough
Only love will be enough.
.
I know I'm running out of time
Low on hope that you'll be mine
But I have enough for one more song,
And if you listen it won't be long,
Cause I told the milky way your name
I wrote it in fire but you never came,
But the stars know your name.
.
These are the last verses I write
The last letter in my dark night,
Even if my eyes need your light
I can't fight with Love, Love won the fight.
I say goodbye and watch you float away
Like you did with my heavy heart that day.
You always float away.
.
I always knew we'd have to part
So you could make another start,
You played the muse and I the troubadour
I left songs on rose petals at your door,
And I wish I had more to say farewell in style
But I guess I have enough, I have your smile,
I have your perfect smile.
.
And if I crawl your extra mile
Can I hold you for a while?
Cause love costs more when you're lost
But I paid in full and tears was all it cost,
And the place I promised you, well its still there
You can reach it but regret won't pay the fare,
Regret won't get you anywhere.
.
Beautiful one, I realize it's wasn't fair
Back when I would watch you stare
Like you were suffering in a dream,
And moonlight was the only stream
That lit our day and paved our troubled way
To our spot by the sea, where you couldn't stay,
Oh. how I wish you'd stay.
.
You went looking for my face
Drove so far to that old place,
But they took my picture down
In that cold and faceless town.
In stone it's written I would die for you
And it's too late for that to not be true ,
On your heart it says I'd die for you.
.
So don't forget the things life taught
That love must come, It can't be caught,
And I know your name means life
I loved you but hated all the strife,
But I will build again, just like back then-
Cause it wasn’t wrong, remember our song
Love sees no wrong.
.

A very wistful write that seems to come from your own experience and your disclaimer at the beginning about making the wrong choices when it comes to falling in love. Unfortunately I don't think that we can beat our hormones when it comes to being attracted to opposites and sometimes finding out they are our worst choices ever.

Beautifully rhymed and thoroughly covering the unfortunate circumstance of love going wrong.

"The stars know your name." They always do my dear, I pray love arrives to you with just the right flavor and timing. Thank you for sharing your heart felt poem xo

I have loved the wrong person, so this spoke to me. I saw a few places where you could have cut down...but generally this is very nice.
