When I look into my mother's eyes I can see both joy and sadness there A mixture of feelings beyond compare Joy for what has been and what will be Sadness for days gone by too quickly And I understand
For when I look into my own eyes I see a mixture of joy and sadness there Joy for the daughters who have been Joy for the life unfolding for them Yet sadness for the loss of days gone by Sadness for a time that seemed to fly
And when my mother looks into my eyes She can see both joy and sadness there A mixture of feelings beyond compare Joy for what has been and what will be Sadness for days gone by too quickly And she understands
life has a way of slipping by and before we realize it we are reflecting upon our memories of years ago, that it seems we made only days before. I enjoyed this write very much, I was visiting my mother the other day we were reflecting on years gone by and I saw the sadness that you've penned so well in my mother's eyes also, I can even see a bit of sadness in my own eyes occasionally, for time surely can slip past us leaving us to wonder if we've made the most of it or wasted much of it....great write, so glad that I stopped by this afternoon.
