There, on the side of the street, do you see
The woman with the haggard hair, do you stare
At the man with the toothless grin, do you care
If there is an infant, a child, an old man
Without anything more to eat, to wear
What do you think, in your car, going past
On your way to somewhere, anywhere, but there
What if you took the time to look, in their eyes
At their faces, would you see beyond the grime
And see someone, perhaps, you can't place, to
See your sister, your mother, your brother,
a bit of you
