Indian tradition of henna designs and anklets worn by the bride, seem like vows written in henna.

Vows in Henna Aesthetic rustic designs floral, geometric enshrine secret vows and promises. Unsaid yet eternally abiding on beautiful feet and ankles that are constantly grounded. Tiny tinkling anklets intimately embrace these divine vows, seductive as she steps with grace. With time the promise in henna fades slowly disappear from her skin binding them forever, as soulmates ! mitu

Thank you for sharing this lovely tradition with us Mitu. It brought back the many traditional encounters shared at a wedding reception. They are all so meaningful and so special.

It is really unfortunate that such artistry is only displayed temporarily and then is lost except to the memories of the couple married. But I don't approve of tattoos as a way of making this artistry permanent.

The photo helps keep the memories alive and is a form of preservation of a fleeting image as well.

A beautiful and meaningful rendering of what the symbol of henna could mean. I am familiar with usages of henna as I have lived in the Middle East for many years, yet I have never thought of it in this striking manner. Lovely writing.
