just a dream I had

Poem Artwork

Little rustic log cabin nestling at woods edge

Red oaks surrounding but not blocking lover’s view

Garden of roses of every known color around each corner

Mixing with ivy the perfect ground cover

Porch just right with a swing and ceiling fan

So relaxing, swinging looking over the land

Out of site and you hear the water flowing

Brook full of rocks, creatures, and water lilies

Sunset turns the blue sky into a wild fire

Time is coming for us now to retire

Stepping into a den warm and comfy

Fireplace roaring, flames of blue and yellow jumping

Hand made hook rug of cloth from old quilts

Nothing more to do than just lay down before we wilt

Snuggle, smile, and look deep into each other’s eyes

Kissing good night knowing tomorrow we will see a new sunrise

Why is the photo so small?? It looks like THE perfect place to stay, where all your dreams become reality - but I cannot see it clearly.

Enjoyed your write. Should I ever find such a place as this little cottage, I'll be off - I promise !

Oh, Tommy... talk about melting completely into a poem... sigh. This brought me the most wonderful mind pictures... the entire "atmosphere" of this lovely piece was both exhilerating and sweetly peaceful. You must be reading my dreams! (smile) This is one of your best, indeed! katy xox.

I enjoyed this, and I thank you for sharing it. I've had this very dream...which now I'm wondering how many others may have had it as well.
I invite you to read a previous post of mine The Cabin, if you go into my site map you'll find it among the many.
You've written this to bring out the depth of the want and need to be loved and needed.
Well written! Lisa
