Although I was born and raised in New York, I now find myself living amongst the miles of fields that makeup smalltown Ohio. One of the things I miss the most is the beach. Some of my most invigorating, yet relaxing reflection times have occurred at the beach.

Wearily I lay, eyes closed, arms behind my head

Clothed in gauze, the gentle stroke of a mild breeze

Dances across my body caressing my bronzed skin

Deeply I breathe, inhaling the salty air

As it enters my being seeking to cleans my soul

Behind me, the crackle of dried brush rustling in the wind

Before me, the thunderous roar of the sea crashing ashore

The wail above of seagulls seeking their feast

Below the sand cushions me, framing me as if protecting me

I am miles away from the walls of concrete towers

The blaring of horns and the fast-paced hustle and bustle

Far from the crowded streets where people push and shove

No longer am I pressured, stressed or overwhelmed

For now a blanket of peacefulness wraps me in her sanctity

The beauty of nature sings to me her comforting psalm

At this moment I can truly focus on what really matters

The life that I live, the love that I share, and the beauty

Of a moment that cannot be created by thoughts alone

Born and raised on the beaches of southern NJ was I, I find this write to put me there again, even though I live but 30 miles away from my boyhood home of Sea Isle...Ed

I could almost hear the ocean and those psychotic birds wailing overhead in this one, Anne. Almost lulled me to sleep (not a good thing since I SHOULD be doing homework ;-) ) I feel an odd sense of peace after reading this, though. I wish that's where I was right now.

Ohio is a wonderful state to be in. I have many wonderful friends there. It is peaceful isn't it? Still I would like to experience New York at least once.

Aaaaaaaaahhhhhh
I literally sighed as the soft strokes of your masterful pen created a sensual experience. You transported me in a moment with your vivid descriptions. I live in a peaceful environment and while I sit here writing this review hear the sounds I have become so accustomed to, sounds that often disappear into the background. I listen now with a new ear.
Thank you
Chanti
