When it rains the roof leaks in places I don't want to reach There's a tympany in my upstairs bathroom Varied tones chime according to coffee tin or chipped china bowl I have grown accustomed to the constant sorrow I can almost forget The squirrels laugh They chew holes in the tarp and hide walnuts in what's left of a shake roof sponged with moss Sometimes I cry at my stubborn independence that time reminds me is cruel reward I have been alone too long and have forgotten how to be soft What I would give for two strong hands to remind me

Here it is making the news that yanky squirrels have killed off nearly all our friendly reds. Sure is a cruel.
Linda this is really deep from the passionate heart inside of you and speaks of a quiet yearning of the love and desire that you miss. The images are clear and fill the mind with a picture of a quaint country cottage or a rustic farm house comfy but just needing a few repairs.

I truly don't believe that, Linda, but this is a most powerful piece.

How few of us are truly independent anymore? How sad is it that the outcome of our independence is almost allways lonliness. What wouldn't we give to feel truly loved? Oh what would I give for two soft arms and a warm heart to wrap around me. Excellent writing. Pierre.
