I sat at the dinner table, waiting for my feast, While Jack carved the roasted beast, When he was finished, he offered me a drumstick, I told him that it was way too much for me, Next he offered me a wing, I said ewwww, ick, I just want a piece of white meat sir, if you please. He laughed his jovial ho ho ho, and gave me the, Slice I wanted, to which he said, you're eating like a girl, To which I just smiled and didn't say a word. I took small bites so that they could see, That there was this girl in me, That wanted out and to be free. I sat with my legs crossed at the ankles, Like the prim and proper ladies then did, And I held my napkin to my mouth, And just dabbed the corners, To which they all replied, That's a good girl, And all I did was smile.
It is always nice to be validated. A fine expressive piece, Barbara. Thank you for sharing it. Love and best wishes to you,
Regis

That was very touching, even more so since knowing you are that little girl.

I share your feelings about turkey wings (or any other kind of wings for that matter...ewww is right!)
I very much enjoyed reading this and liked the way you set the atmosphere. I think that through your writing you have given the world a look into your very kind heart and gentle spirit. Nicely done, and thank you for sharing.

This actually did make me hungry but then the hunger in me was stopped when I could see a little girl sitting there trying to be oh, so good and no one knowing and no one seeing the real you. Bless you, dear Barbie. Love from Meredith
