A little self-pity I guess. But, we all have those days.

Poem Artwork

"To be or not to be" is that the question... or was it "Be all you can be?"
Whatever the phrase, my ship came in then sailed on without me.

And I tell myself,
"Don't weep Mary."

Children don't realize the days are shorter and life moves like a dart. The galaxy once held a star for my name, but I never made the mark.

And I tell myself,
"Don't weep Mary."

My daddy died many years ago and momma passed on too. My life-lines are waning much too fast. Oh what's a girl to do?
My cheeks are moist, but the tears fall not, and I bet you wonder why.

I tell myself, "Oh Mary dear,
Oh Mary don't you cry!"
