You left this world forever young,
Before your song was ever sung,
Captured by the grasp of the devil’s tongue,
He snatched your life leaving much undone.
Holding on strong down memory lane,
It brings us joy and often pain,
So hard to swallow or ascertain,
The insane acts, those hands of stain.
What makes a man of evil disgust?
Who crushes the child with breach of trust?
Your knife did pierce with much unjust,
Now their hearts live on in angel dust.
Where are you now O child so rare?
That graced our days beyond compare,
I feel your breath in the soft still air,
No faceless fears or hopeless despair.
Your life and love, we send you prayers,
We treasure your pictures and souvenirs,
On the wings of doves it carries our tears,
Whispering the music of the spheres.
Forever enmeshed in our hearts and souls,
Your life lives on with newfound goals,
Co-creating with God’s own scrolls,
Making arrangements for other roles.
May you live in peace and love and light,
May you fly with the angels in songs of flight,
May you always be blessed and your soul ignite,
Forever be young and halo bright.
Your heart-scarred piece brings loving tribute, but also much unease to the reader. I first flashed on the stories I've seen on the news of sadness like this, which rend the viewers heart but can be pushed down and shuttered as the days go by, but not so the families and friends of these cherished children who are victims of humanities horrors. May Terri Lyn's soul be riding winged unicorns of wondrous colors while laughing as she sails through clouds and stars of glowing warmth.

All philosophies aside, once again you illustrate that pain and pleasure are flip sides of the same coin. Dance we must until the 'song has been sung' and together we learn that 'all are one!' A nice piece of writing.....my heart goes out to Terry and her family and friends.

This poem of yours reminds me, Dallas, of the many deaths (of dear family
members and close-to-my-heart friends) that I have experienced in my life.
It still makes me sad not having them here physically anymore... but I'm also
thankful that they were able touch... and share... my earthly life's journey
for a while.

What a beautiful tribute. Sometimes it is hard to accept the tragedies that befall the ones we love. This is so well written. I am still struggling to write about the life and suicide of my son but haven't been able to do much yet except one poem.
