Listening

– Janet Caldwell

Listening

Draping my now tanned feet
out of our car’s window
while cruising down the curved street.

Seeing and BE-ing pure health
trusting spirit . . . in lieu of ego.

Eying the lush mountains to one side
and the sparkling beach on the other.
I marveled at the beauty all around us
and this vision that took me so long
to manifest into this now, this, my reality.

Yeah, It took me awhile
to let go of reasoning untruths
to exorcise this insanity
and to give in . . .
to my holy spirit
so full . . . of only love.

I quickly glanced at you
driving and smiling at me
and I could read your mind.

We were laughing
at the time . . .
as my ivory dress
from Brother wind
blew gently
while lifting and dancing
playfully teasing
around every bend.

I knew your thoughts
because they were mine.

Those conversations that we had
back in the day, and you
saying that one day soon
if we don’t give up
we’ll arrive
and smile
from the lessons learned
and we do.

Now, we are preparing for others
to share in this peace and child like joy.
Yes my Love, my partner, my truth
we are spreading the love tonight.

Rejoicing and singing
shining our lights from within
in this gifted paradise.

I thank God for you.
I thank God for truth
and for BE-ing . . . our love.
I love you, I love me.

Yes, it is our time.

And BE-loved, beloved family
there is only one reason why
you are not experiencing
this jumping up and down.

Simply listen, to that still small voice
of love and quieten your mind.
It’s the only choice for freedom
it beckons, signals and sends many signs.

Listen, it is your time.

Such a beautiful love poem for two lovers enjoying each other's company and swept away in lust and passion just for each other and
thanking God for giving them the chance to share this love together
and alone with nature and beauty all around making such a lovely scene. Thanks for such a lovely write.

Well done!

Loved these lines:

"I thank God for you.
I thank God for truth
and for BE-ing . . . our love.
I love you, I love me."

AMEN!

May the Lord bless you abundantly,

Wonderful to see you posting here again, knowing what you went through and so glad that you are free to write again. That little trip with your feet out the window brought back memories of shoeless trips and flirting with the decency laws that are downright indecent when you think about it.

Visions of A Skylark Dressed in Black by Aberjhani

“The woman or man who is a poet, or fiction writer, or playwright, or all of these, is engaged constantly in a jazz ballet of vocabularies, passions, genders, histories, perspectives, death, love, and life. The music of revelation announces itself to

In the Whirlwind by Tichaona Chinyelu

In the Whirlwind is a poetic storm that frees history from the cages of corruption and puts it in the hands of everyday people. Words are weaved into a new fashion statement that has nothing to do with runways but everything to do with projects!
