He promised to never forsake me
And though there were times
That I could not see Him
Nor feel His presence near me
It was His promise that
I had to hold on to
For in those times of darkness
Times of feelings of despondency
Times that I felt the whole world
Had come against me
It was His promises
That carried me through.
And now I stand in the aftermath
Looking back at the battleground
Having feasted at the
