And so it goes on,
The popular girl, the smiling girl,
The damn false smiles
That seem so real, so genuine in the moment
Until despair and emptiness wraps itself around her,
Keeping her warm…or perhaps it is a strange mixture
Of warmth and coldness, yin and yang, two sides of the same coin.
No matter how you toss it, it twists around and around
Until you aren’t sure at all…no not at all…which face will show
When it lands…

And so it goes, quite the same -
This popular girl, somehow a woman - somehow a warrior
And a virgin and a whore,
All together, all at once, looking out while others look in,
Seeing more than should be seen,
Knowing more than should be known,
And always alone…always.
She may smile, she may reach out and give comfort,
She may love and teach and work and soar,
But when she lands…

The Thunderbird falling, the earth shaking,
The fiery pits bubble and gas escapes, pulling and tugging,
Pinching and pushing until she cries out
So fiercely…so terribly loud and yet so terribly quiet,
A Silent Banshee -
And who shall hear her when she falls?

Why no one at all -

A tremor in the midst of the universe,
Felt only in waves of energy,
Seen only by those who can see beyond,
Silent Banshees such as she -

Sought after, yet neglected.
