Fighting rot
It was a different kind of day
refreshing in it’s own way
flouting routine
I made a different scene.
Rules of writing put me into a morass
I could do no more than sit there on my ass
so I chucked it all for a morning beside the pool
should that have made me feel like a fool?.
I’ve never been one to connect the dots
doing so puts me into a kind of rot
instead, I have to find a different kind of way
even if I can’t keep my critics at bay.
So I sat by the pool railing against rules of writing
it was then that I came upon a sighting
nature’s loveliness, which cannot be equaled
it was an experience that should have a sequel.
How to compare all this with sitting behind a computer?
I’d rather be sitting outside watching kids on their scooters
today I will get back into the groove
across the screen I will make the cursor move.

I did enjoy this exercise of a syllogism to a monologue; -- or should I call it, a monologue of a syllogism? -- either way, this soliloquy is an open letter addressed to creativity... and to strike ontologic thoughts.
"Fighting Rot" is a poem that I like.
