This is a dark poem, so don't expect anything motivational, here. It was written at a time, when I wanted very much to get hired full time by the school board, but could not. Now, I am glad I am just a sub. And just for the record, I misspelled so, on purpose, likewise several other words.

Justice

Sew, you think I am lying

It would surprise you to no

I tell the truth even when it isn’t smart so to do.

Say something else about me

That I’m stoopid or something

But, don’t say that I lied, cause it just isn’t true ..

A thousand times I told the truth when I should have lied

I’ve shot myself a fatal wound from my compulsive truth telling

You sit there so smug and cast your insinuations around when

You do not know anything about me

You administer a mortal blow yet you do not know whom it is that you kill.

We will never get past “hello, how are you?”

and yet you have felled me

There may be justice in this world but not for me

Your faces blur together in a silent no

As you cast a final stone

I resurrect myself from the rubble of my self -esteem

Ten more of me will spring up where you have knocked me down

My heart did not even hammer as you told me how I’d failed

I may be down but I will rise up again

You may never be sorry but one day you may pause

To consider the person you once cast down in the mud

Powerful sentiments, Janet. Being in the "business" of education, I know that of which you write. Thank you. Love and peace,

Emotions and reactions responding to inJUSTICE releasing the pain from the heart.

Probably do to the emotional at the time it was written, it seems that many typos need revision. Please check the spelling.

I salute You, Poet!

There is no justice in this world Janet....that is why we must engineer and construct our own paths in life...:)
I take great stock and comfort from my Mum's words " What's for you....won't go by you..."....:)
