A valentine for his wife

Beloved

Although, beloved,
your waist-long hair,
glinting gold in sunlight,
bought my admiration,
softer now, in moonlight,
it's a silvery sensation.

Though once, beloved,
a brighter blue, deeper hue,
perhaps, your loving eyes
are now more beautiful,
crinkled, time-lined, wise
-- and mine are full.

Before, beloved,
a youthful beauty
I would praise;
but now, dear one,
a time-tuned elegance
decorates my days.
