The extensive power of words.

ACORN WORDS

The words of a mother,
in the early hour,
never fade; routed
in the soil of our
childhood, they live
indefinitely.

While years of anarchy,
and distance, may
cloud the memory,
the kernels of her
guidance will lie
fermenting ...

And like the acorn,
early words of
insight become an
oak of wisdom--
twigs strengthening,
growing long--
season upon season
maturing ...

So from infancy,
the mother's song.

So true--I am lucky enough to still have my mother. but there are times in my mind that I hear her voice from my childhood--things to keep me safe, to nurture me, help me grow strong. A lovely writing, thank you for sharing this.

Wonderfully written and yes, a mother's words are the corner stones of children's well being and are passed down through the chain of generations....

Be always safe,
Karen

These words are very true; thus, how important it is that we mothers choose our words with care and love. Enjoyed.

Beautiful thoughts. Well written.
To bad for many, those childhood memories fade away as we pick up ideas and opinions of our own; often in error.
God bless,
Lew

Say Something Terrorible v3 by RickthePoetWarrior

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
