Natural Girl, Part II

U knew who I was
From the beginning
So don’t start with that
Honey-u’d be sexier with
Fake ass hair in yo’ head
Cause I’m a natural girl
And that’s the way it’s gonna be

I’m not a weavy-wearing, synthetic
Hair slinging chick.
Get this good and get this clear
My natural locks define my essence
And if you don’t think that’s enough
To keep you interested, then move on.

Cause I’m a natural girl
And chemical and hot rollers don’t rock my world.

I am not defined by society’s image of
The girl with perms, weaves or other styles.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not putting my other
Sistas on full blast because of their hair choices
But I am who I am and love who I be.

If you can’t take it, then move on and please
Let another brother fill your space cause
I’m me and I’m not changing, baby.

And besides, I’m not asking you to change for me.
If I cannot accept you as God designed you to be, then
I would be the one with the problem, you see.

But anyway, just wanted to say.
I love my curly cute hair with no chemical suffocating its
Beauty.

I love my natural clean skin, and
not gonna reinvent myself to make you happy.
So, you can go ahead and let another sistertry to please you like that.

As for me, I am moving on
Gots to make room for a real brother
Who loves to see the real essence of me

Cause I’m a natural girl and chemicals don’t rock my world.

I am not defined by society.
Or what anyone else thinks I should be.

I just love me.
Feel comfortable with the way I look
And the way my image is for me.

I’m not caught up in the
“hey, she looks like a dude”
cause that’s bullcrap.
Just cause my hair style is a little
bit lower than most of the sisters you date, you think I'm obliged to do your request?
It's cute and pretty and I like it the way it is.

Call me a rebel.
Call me too much of a natural chick
who refuses to bends to other people's whime.

But I am who I am.
and if you were like my husband to be, I'd consider it.
But you ain't and I love my length.

I am wondering though...
when will we love people
For the content of their character
not their physicality.

Cause I am beautiful
In and out.

And it doesn’t matter if I have
long hair.

Will that get me into god’s heaven?

No baby, I think not.

Cause I’m a natural girl.
And that’s the way it’s gonna be.

And no, I am not changing it
For you even if I once
liked you.

So, don't push me on this issue
and I won't force my natural thoughts
on you.
