A Love Ending Note!

On My Brain

U and Me used to be so tight.
Love used to feel so right.
Then we ended in stupid fights.
Until that fateful night.

No more laughs.
No more long walks or conversations.
Just silence.

U are in my brain.
Apart of my mental composition like a cell that moves me
constantly.
I feel like so insane.
Pretending for months like I didn’t love you was crazy.
I guess we both got lazy.
We loved spending quality time together like it was nothing.
But one of us knew.
Knew that it meant more than long walks or going out to the
parties.
And deep inside my heart was bleeding.

I’m not the same after you.
I spent many months without you blue.
Writing in my journal’s or walking where we used to.
But now I am true .
True to who I am.
No longer blue.

U and Me used to be so tight.
Now there are no fights.
The light in my soul is on fire.
Cause I have taken time to balance me and seek what
I couldn’t have with you.
Taking my time to seek the man that will complement me.
And love spending time with me without coming up
with lies.
Or making me cry.

I know you are living a nice life without me.
And I’m not mad.
I want you to have the love you seek.
Or the family you prayed about in 2003.

I’m no longer blue.
Cause I am true to me.
Cause I can laugh at my foibles without taking myself seriously.
Cause I have folks who love me.
Cause I can travel the globe and spend time
with the people close to me knowing they love me
whether I spit poetry or teach a workshop.
They don’t care if my bank account isn’t all that it
should be.
They just like me and keep it real with me.
They will give me tough love but at the end of the day
will give me a hug and a smile.
And unconditional love.
U can’t put a price on that.

Thank you for the lesson of love
and pain.
Thank you for allowing me to grow
and letting go of me.
Thank you for teaching me that I can get close to a man.
That my heart is worth much more that self-denial and stupid
lies.
That I am worth more than bullshit.

But know that you are still on my brain.
And I think of you often.
But I have no regrets.
Nor am I sad.
I’m no longer pissed or mad.
Just glad.
Glad that I was able to bring voice
to my inner pain.
Glad that you know how I felt.
Even if you didn’t understand.
It’s all good.

Thanks for the lessons.
Now I abide you adue!
