Words like weapons Thrown like spears Hit their mark forcibly Disdain drips like blood As catapults of contempt Cut through dead air Razor sharp tongues Like swords Meant to slay the opposition Offense became the defensive tactic. A battle of wits Devoid of wisdom Egos clash like thunder Clouds burst, rain spills... ~ I dry my eyes and slither away Today I met defeat And in humility, retreat. Even in battle of words there are tears shed and soon enough someone finds they must retreat from the battlefield...
