Resonance

In some perceived realities
You are gone and done with me
But I shall never be quite free
Of you ~ seared to my memories


With eyes awake
My mind placates
To soothe heart aches
Of love at stake


Yet, in slumber deep
Is peace beseeched
For when I sleep
My soul doth creep

To dance in dreams
Therein, redeemed
In silent scenes
Seek ways and means


It is at night
My soul takes flight
Drifts toward light
From wrong to right

That during day
Has lost its way
In power plays
And come what may


Ideals astound
Go round and round
In sleep, I'm bound
To a love, profound

This poem has a lovely flow, like a stream, as it expresses the intended theme. The "it's" in the fifth stanza should be "its." I make typos all the time and appreciate others pointing them out. I love the way you express yourself via your verses. This is "my" kind of poetry. Thank you. Love and best wishes,
