behind the wild mulberry's
bemused and insinuating eye
          spying ever
inward?

Not by accident,
but purposeful abandon,

claw bloody
              the span
of high flown vistas
to name it sweetly in your ear

Return its cadence to you
in rounded cupped hands-
               Once more
your smile tasting
of dill weed and citron
