a portrait of a certain lady

a portrait of a certain lady

Southern City Daughter

Watch me as I glide

in the wake

of tanned arms and nails

the color

of moonlight

letting you glimpse

the burnished tightness

of my

conventionality

gathering the silver that

is my due

to guard

my delicacy

and my privilege

resplendent

in my beige

Nirvana
