A orphaned piece of poetry from High School, just before I started writing Lyrics.
“Things I Like”
I like to see happiness, in my friends around me
I like to see justice, upon those who have hurt me
I like to protect, my friends and my family
I like to speak, but only to those who would listen
I like to meet people, who don’t just judge me
I like to feel accepted, but that could never be
I like to feel like a child, no cares of what anyone thinks of me
I like to trust people, but they hurt me just the same
I would like to tell you, that I like being me
But everyone has taught me; they will never like me for me

This is how I've always felt and still, but I never really care about what others think about me. I try to be myself, but I guess myself just isn't good enough. I know a lot of people feel that way. Great work.
Each person is but a grain of sand resting beside the sea. This thought sets the tone for Jill Eisnaugle’s latest poetry collection, Beside Still Waters.
