Life is lonely all of the time;
I miss my younger days.
My body moves with creaks and groans
and hurts in many ways.
My eyes are dim, my hearing, too,
With oh, so many ills;
Oft times, my memory fails and I
Forget to take my pills.
I need a touch of joyfulness,
A taste of happy thoughts,
A fresh supply of happiness,
Awe at what God has wrought.
I need to lose the yearning sigh
The regret for all I lack,
And gain contentment wed to peace;
Lord, help me get it back!
I know God has a purpose
For giving these years to me;
It's all a part of His great plan,
But to me, a mystery.
I know I can trust my Savior and Lord,
Who suffered and died in my place;
I'll rest in His wisdom and praise His name
Till the day we meet face to face!
You are speaking to a select group of people here—the one wherein I belong. And we can expect to go through gloomy days brought on by the death of a loved one, a child moving far away from us, someone says something to hurt us—whatever the reason may be that causes physical or emotional suffering. Christ died on the cross for all the sins of this world and to give us eternal life. As long as we are in the body we now have, we are human, with human characteristics. And as long as we are in this body, we will sin, be sad and lonely at times, feel physical and emotional pain, etc. however, if we will only trust Him to be our Savior, we have the hope of one day possessing a new life. As the song goes:
“He could have called ten thousand angels to destroy the world and set him free
He could have called ten thousand angels but he died alone for you and me…”
Keep writing your heartfelt words of wisdom, Connie. One day you will be rewarded with an abundance of blessings
