A Brick Inside the Temple
My body was formed from the clay of this planet Earth
I have no mother
My Father granted my birth
With His breath – I breathe
I am not a tree without fruit nor leaves
I am part of the blossom and all it’s beauty
You believe what you want to believe
Comes the end – ALL will see.
My eyes were not colored by the sea
No earthly fathers have I
My mother gave painful -- resentful birth
Has blamed me ever since
I give no pretense
******
I am in the leaf
I am part of the worm
I feed the birds
The hawk hunts me
I am nothing more than your arm charmed trophy.
I will bow down before Thee
Yes -- all Three
When asked – I will be able to explain
Why I like to go running – through the rain
What I learned - from all the pain.
Let the clouds come
Come quickly
May You find me
Patiently waiting
Plowing the Garden
From whence I came
Now You send.
*******
With bountiful seed
In my pocket
Around your neck
A silver locket
With pictures inside kept
Captured when we met
Oh . . . . . . . . how can I ever forget.
I’ll try to keep this simple.
I am a brick that adorns
The inside of the Temple.
